Hidden Safari

 Description:

First, we cut out a pair of 3D glasses using the template given. It used construction paper and red plastic. Then we got to choose an animal found in a safari. After choosing our animal, we drew it upside down on a white sheet of paper using a blue colored pencil. You can use any cool colored pencil for this step as well. When we were done drawing our animal, we used warm colored pencils to draw at least three patterns on top of the animal. I did swirls, starts, lines, and wavy lines on top of mine. After that we had to write three sentences that describes the animal we have chosen. When using the 3D glasses, you can see the animal underneath the pattern.

Extension Activity:

After writing the 3 sentences, have the students walk around and guess each animal. Make sure the students are not using their glasses during that time. After everyone has made their way around the room, list off each animal in order and see who go the most right. Then students can walk around the room using their glasses to see the animals underneath the patterns.
