Stain Glass Turkey
Description:
First students listen to a presentation about stained glass art. Then they followed a detailed instruction about how to tape the turkey shape and their big feathers. After that they taped patterns into the turkey feathers. After that they were given paint to mix colors together. They had to include one primary, two secondary, and two tints on their turkey feathers. They could include as many colors as they wanted in addition to the required colors. When they are done painting the feathers, they painted the turkey face on. Once the paint was dried, they could peal up the tape to reveal their design.
Extension Activity:
An extension activity I would include is having the student write on 6 turkey feathers what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving, I would have them write a paragraph explaining why they are thankful for each thing.
