Zentangle Pumpkin
Description:
The lesson started with a power point explaining what zentangle art was. After that we were asked to draw two patterns. One patter for fall and one pattern that was personal to us. After that we followed instructions on how to draw the pumpkin. Then we filled in the 6 sections of the pumpkin with designs. 2 of the designs had to be one fall pattern and one personal pattern. We drew the patterns with crayon and painted over the patterns with watercolor. At the end we showed our designs and explained why we chose each one.
Extension Activity:
Have the students create a pumpkin patch bulletin board in the classroom. Have them make zentangle art vines and leaves to fill in the pumpkin patch. This way the students can do more zentangle designs and create a fun student-centered bulletin board.
